Overview

Known as the “Capital of Casual”, to introduce Negril, we have to quote Richard Hershman, the original owner of Rick’s Cafe: “Your body has suddenly arrived where your mind has always been”.

It is picturesque drive along the North Coast, through typical Jamaican villages and Towns on the way to Negril 7-mile white sand beach. Your driver points out all the places of interest along the way, such as such as the old Tryall Waterwheel – this still functioning cast iron Water Wheel is said to be over 200 years old. It stands on the majestic Tryall Club in Hanover – he will even stop at local fruit stalls so you can sample freshly picked coconuts, sugar cane, mangoes, etc. This is a very delightful way to experience the Jamaican lifestyle.

In Negril, Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville on the beach is ‘the’ place to be – it provides the perfect mix of entertainment options. There is accessible open air dining under a thatched roof, Tiki beach bar, giant flat screen TV’s , cabanas, beach chairs, umbrellas and all day island music! With nothing but pure sand and crystal clear turquoise water as far as the eye can see, you quickly realize why Margaritaville Caribbean – Negril is Jimmy’s favorite. After soaking up some sun, head to Ricks Café on Negril’s West End Cliffs. Watch the daring cliff divers. What makes the trip a fantastic one is that you don’t actually need to jump off the cliff to feel the adrenaline; as you watch other vacationers and locals take the plunge, you too feel the excitement and experience the thrill.
